Our Activities
We aim to serve the underserved. PongFit spreads the joy of ping pong to places where people could be playing but don't have the opportunity, awareness, or resources. Wanna help out? Take action or donate today! Or suggest an underserved organization that could use a little assistance from PongFit — free equipment, lessons, or a party!
Here's a sampling of some of our community-boosting events:
Thanksgiving Tournament — Culver City Senior Center
Culver City Senior Center (CCSC) is a great success story in jump-starting a thriving ping pong community for seniors! Earlier in the year PongFit donated a competition-grade table and equipment, and it sparked a frenzy of enthusiastic play at the center. For Thanksgiving that year, PongFit helped run CCSC’s first official ping pong tournament, with a strong turnout and PongFit gear for prizes!
“Thanks to PongFit’s support provided at this event, our community had a great time. They keep asking for more!”

SAFE PLACE FOR YOUTH – PING PONG PIZZA PARTY & TABLE DONATION
Safe Place for Youth (S.P.Y.) in Venice, CA provides a clean, safe, supportive community to young people experiencing homelessness. That includes housing, meals, clothing, job assistance, a computer lab, and an overall chill hangout space. PongFit partnered with S.P.Y. to throw a good ol' ping pong pizza party – on a brand new table and gear donated by PongFit! S.P.Y. now has a fun, healthy, community-building activity for its residents. WATCH VIDEO >>
“PongFit gave an upbeat, engaging presentation, showing how ping pong is great for de-stressing and fun. I most appreciated the opportunity for our members to show off their skills and enjoyment of the sport. I didn't realize we had so many ping pong enthusiasts on site! Thanks for an amazing event!”

CULVER CITY SENIOR CENTER – TABLE DONATION & PONG PARTY
For half a century the Culver City Senior Center has served a vibrant and diverse community of seniors. Its membership is now some 5,000 strong. It offers social, disability, and emergency services, along with health, fitness, and educational classes. But until recently, no ping pong! So PongFit donated a table and equipment to the center, and co-hosted a ping pong party for an enthusiastic group. The center now has open play hours on its weekly schedule, with healthy participation. We call that a success! WATCH VIDEO >>
“Thank you, PongFit, for your huge part in our event! The seniors loved it and are extremely excited to start using the table. It was great to see so many smiles and seniors on their feet and active!”

SANTA MONICA POLICE ACTIVITies LEAGUE – TABLE DONATION & PONG PARTY
The Santa Monica Police Activities League provides underprivileged kids a safe place to go to learn, play, or hang out with friends and mentors. PongFit donated a table and ping pong equipment to the center so the kids could enjoy a healthy, social activity for a long time to come. We had a great time playing with the kids, eating some ice cream, and showing them some tips and fun games. WATCH VIDEO >>
“Our youth had a blast playing with and learning from the PongFit team. I look forward to watching the kids play a lot more on our new table — thank you! It made my day seeing how excited they were.”

World Table Tennis Day – April 6
Table tennis is the ultimate inclusive sport, accessible to virtually all players regardless of age, skill level, gender, income, religion, or geography. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) created World Table Tennis Day in 2015 to celebrate and grow this amazing sport. Recently, there were 914 events in 107 countries around the planet that celebrated the day! PongFit hosted its own fest on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, with open play for all. We had about 250 visitors engaged, from at least 11 different countries. And of the 900+ worldwide events, the ITTF Foundation gave awards for the top 13 — including PongFit! WATCH VIDEO >>
“The Third Street Promenade had ping pong tables set up – what a pleasant surprise! I’m a 77-year-old grandmother and I had a great time playing ping pong with my son there. The people running it were very pleasant and fun. They even put on a professional demonstration for us. I love when our community puts on this type of event. We need to do these more often.”

Smile train charity tournament
PongFit directed this charity ping pong tournament as part of a benefit event for Smile Train, which treats kids worldwide who suffer from cleft palate but can't afford surgeries. It was hosted at a video distribution conference at a beautiful hotel in West Los Angeles. Cool people and serious rallies made this a fun event - not to mention the flatscreen TV that was given away as a prize. $15K was generated for a great cause — enough to perform 60 cleft repair procedures for kids in need! “PongFit really knows what they’re doing, and they’re fun and friendly to work with. We all learned a lot about table tennis at the tournament they organized, and especially how it can involve pretty much anyone, regardless of skill.
